Wii U's Price and Release Date Announcement

Nintendo's Wii U has been fully revealed and explored during this years E3. In fact, it was the main course in their presentation! But no date of release or price was revealed at E3 with only an ambiguous "We'll announce it later on during 2012" kind of a statement. Well finally I have date for when they are going to tell us the release date and price! Let's hear for it:

September 2012

Yes, so around my 20th birthday is when we'll get to hear about the Wii U's release date and its price. Many fans and critics are speculating that the console will probably be released for the winter holidays since Nintendo is known for releasing things during that particular time. Let's all wait with bated breath and cross our fingers for the best.

We'll see how popular the Wii U will become and how much the price cut for the PS3 and XBox 360 during the Winter Holidays will affect its sales. Me being a Nintendo fan more than the others can't help but say "Fighting!" Or in Korean:

Much to Come Summer

Hello my dear readers, now that school is over, I'm baaaaaaack, whether you like it or not. I hope you like the new blog header that I made at 2 in the morning .. last night? No, I did NOT draw the picture. If I could draw that well, do you think I'd waste all my time writing? Probably would. I just noticed that the girl isn't blushing. Well that kills.

I haven't been just admiring the header all day (just all night!), I actually had plans to blog big stuff. And I mean BIG stuff! For starters, I got my 3rd volume in the Nintendo Power's magazine subscription based thing. Now, I couldn't read it right away because I had three adorable but way too energetic nephews over and so I didn't touch it till a good.. 4 hours later. I was lying in bed flipping through the pages when I noticed a wee little thing that made me very angry for some reason and here it is:

Yes guys, Harvest Moon Land of Beginnings is coming to AMERICA and at E3 tomorrow, more information was to be revealed to us non Japanese speaking turnip hungry fanatics. I, an in explainable die hard Harvest Moon fan should be thrilled and I was! I was positively thrilled and extremely happy that my niche game had made it into a magazine at last, the entire reason why I subscribed to Nintendo Power in the first place (or at least a large reason)! Then came a realization at how small a page Harvest Moon occupied. Then further realization, I didn't even see the page until I had flipped back thinking I had missed something on another game. Then, a little perplexed I decided to ignore it because, well, Harvest Moon is well known but not well loved by the masses. It was to be expected. Hell, my other magazine, GameInfomer, the self-proclaimed world's #1 game magazine, didn't even MENTION Harvest moon and was instead filled with testosterone ridden games with a few other stuff dotted here and there.

I was cool, cool as a cucumber with its ass smoking, that is until I read the page. Yes I am truly grateful that you writers at Nintendo Power decided to put this niche game in two thirds of your page along with a whole mess of advertising, but this old series is now hitting its 15th year. Here let me emphasize this. 15TH YEAR! Not many games make it for so long and during its 15th ANNIVERSARY, when even the company that is notoriously known for delaying the translation of any game (yes you , we love you but its true) has amazed all Harvest Moon fans (and there are at least a good 200,000 of them) by releasing the game within a year of its Japanese release. You might think this is ridiculous, but this is unheard of  for Natsume and a huge step. Whether they'll keep up with their announcement, who knows, but the effort for Harvest Moon's 15th ANNIVERSARY is surely commendable. And what does Nintendo Power do?

Surely, a magazine that has Nintendo's own name on it must know that for the past 15 YEARS, ALL (okay excluding maybe like 3-4ish) of the Harvest Moon games were on Nintendo consoles. And knowing how crazy Harvest Moon fanatics can be (being a crazy one myself) maybe Nintendo would like to know that I am even saving my broke ass's money to buy a Wii for this series.  My complaint: Why does a series that have lasted for so long and with such dedicated fans get only a two thirds of a page of a magazine for its big 15th BIRTHDAY!

Aside: Harvest Moon is older than a good chunk of gamers! Think of that!

New games from squareenix get entire PAGES for their stuff. Pokemon gets several pages in every magazine even AFTER the game has been released. An old game that most modern gamers didn't even know about, Kid Icarus, continues to get pages for its long long awaited sequel. I get it, they're more in demand by the crowd and so its a company's job to deliver. But seriously?!?!

I know my picture taking skills suck but take a look at the image I posted up there. Keep looking. Now you'll notice that on the magazine page, the only images are teeny screenshots of the game in Japanese. The only real picture you get is the female character (what about the male? this isn't only a girl's game despite the stats) and a cow. By and by, I declare, LOOK HERE! Who the hell is going to notice this? I DIDN'T notice it at first and the only reason I recognized it was harvest moon was because I stalked this game for months at a time and recognized the girl. Can everyone do that? NO! Does everyone do that? HELL NO!

And to add insult to injury look at the advertisements! At the left of the page, taking the full length down hot dog wise, is a panel with a little quiz. You know, the little quizzes that are on cereal boxes that no one gives a second shit about? Hell, I'll honestly admit, I saw the quiz first because I LOVE reading cereal boxes... everyone has weird things they like to do in the morning and that's mine. Then to knock it all off, they add the announcement of a new color to the 3DS! Very nice, but seriously?!?! I'm livid. I'm riling myself up just thinking about it. And then there's the next page. MORE ADVERTISEMENT. It never ENDS! How many of you guys actually saw this game announcement? Bet none of you did huh? Raise of hands, come on!

-Run off into a corner and scream like a fanatic that I am-

This is why I have to subscribe to Famitsu, the legendary Japanese gaming magazine. They at least grace a couple of pages about Harvest Moon and announce its development process and everything with each edition when possible. But alas, I can't read Japanese and it costs half a grand to subscribe to the thing and have it shipped here. I'll show hard evidence to prove that I'm not spitting liar's fire here.

Look at these beautifully illustrated pages. Look at the rich history that is obviously involved in Harvest Moon/ Rune Factory lifespan. Look! You can actually see the many games of Harvest Moon and what I am showing you isn't even half of it! I will buy Famistu one day, when I have finished my schooling but till then I can only look at the pictures and sigh.

Okay, my rant is done.

Now tomorrow is E3 and I'm extremely excited for it. So excited that I'm going to actually post up anything I find remotely interesting on it on here. So many games are going to be released this summer that I can't simply wait for.

Animal Crossing 3DS

Harvest Moon A New Beginning (no duh)

Pokemon Black and White 2

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

Dude the list goes on and on and on! Okay not really because I'm a very specific type of gamer, but even those mentioned above should keep me occupied for my whole short summer break! I have so much to blog about and I will I tell you I will! I'll blog about my nephews another day and go into specifics later because this is already a very wordy post.

I'll finish with this video of a animist I found. His jokes, I find personally very crude and not funny and would probably be more appealing to the pre pubescent to early pubescent crowd, but I do admire his animation skills and the level of sarcasm in his voice when he jokes about video games. I present to you, egoraptor, in all his sarcastical glory! Check it out, maybe you'll find him funny.

P.S. This is from my older Blog Gureelove. It's not placed on the Guree because it was when the Guree was still down for construction, but it has a lot of gaming information and so I placed it here. I hope you guys enjoy :D

Kingdom Hearts 3D Mark of Mystery Edition!

Hello guys!! As the title suggests, the Kingdom Hearts series is continuing on the 3DS with the Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance or 3D. Well you guys all probably knew that and are rolling your eyes at me with exasperation! Well did you guys know that they are releasing a limited time special edition for the first batch of games called the Mark Of Mystery Edition? That's right, for $15 more, you get to have a whole bunch of stuff! The whole bunch of stuff is going to be shown down below!!

After I faithfully watched an unwrapping for you guys, I figured out what everything was. The huge white box on the left is just the outer box and the black box in the center is the actual box box that has everything in it. Inside of the box, is some pretty artwork on the actual box. One side is this picture:

Just without the Kingdom Hearts and 3DS logo. On the other side was another image that looks like a beach, but I couldn't find it online so sorry guys. I'm going to preorder this edition of the game and when I get it, maybe i'll take pictures of everything the game has to offer with my crappy digital camera. Yay me! no, Yay you!

Now on the far right of that image is the game itself, and right below it is a Kingdom Hearts protective game cover for your 3DS!!! Right below that is the collection of AR cards that gives you special only obtainable through this edition Dream Eater Pets! Woo woo! Finally at the bottom left corner is a black envelope with its contents to its left and its basically art cards with the art of the Kingdom Heart 3D game for you to see. I'm going to post those up on my blank wall and give my room some personality! I'll post pictures later :D

Well there you have it fellas. That's the wholeness of the Kingdom Hearts 3D Mark of Mystery Edition! Honestly, I'm getting it for the cover and the art. I love looking at pretty art after all :D

Awkward Zombie - Fire Emblem Comic

It makes it so much easier to recruit people this way. Here's an amusing Fire Emblem comic that I'd like to share with you viewers. It shows the difficult decision making process the characters make before talking to random people on enemy lines. This comic is from a great webcomic series, which I hope that you'll come to read, Awkward Zombie, it holds many game related jokes within it's cute and creative artistic illustration style. You can find many different manners of amusing game jokes, ranging from games such as Pokemon, Zelda, and Fire Emblem, as well as Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect, and Metal Gear Solid. I hope you enjoyed the comic as much as I did!

Rune Factory Frontier: First 5 Days

I'm sure you guys have read Izzy's first play through and thoughts on Rune Factory Frontier. He's as sarcastic as ever but I think its good since he's relatively new to the series and I am not. I'll go into my views of the game now :D

This game has a lot of details like all the Rune Factory games. Its very strange though because in most Rune Factory games, the games tend to start off with most of the characters introduced. This one, on the other hand, starts off with only a handful and you can't meet them all in the course of one day. In fact, even the locals aren't accessible until you accept a Quest by good old Stella, the church nun.

The game starts with the main character, Raguna, wandering around looking for his friend Mist. Honestly, I don't think that's the only reason but if you have played the first game, he does owe a lot to the turnip loving gal. Upon finding her, she coerces him into living on a farm next door. Series of events follow and you meet the locals. I personally have a crush on Erik. He's so damn fine! Sadly, my character has a pair that he also has.. and they don't seem to mesh well together. -sigh-

yes, I'm going to make his picture that big. He's just too good to pass. Now there are little things in this game that I really love. The characters, as always have spunk. And for the first time, you are given the option to woo a girl who is chubby! Eunice is a darling and she seems sweet and kind. Mist is as strange as ever and mumbles in her own happy way that seems to leave Raguna speechless. No, I'm not kidding, he really has nothing to say in response... she really is a weird gal. But I like her a lot cause she's adorable. I don't normally like main character girls but her, I'll stand.
But my favorite girl is Anette! She comes into this game as the mail delivery girl and runs around with monsters chasing her! She loves mail and she's really into exercise! In fact, I let the creepy stalker within me chase her around town and found that I wasn't the only one vying for her affections. Danny, the next local hottie was after her too. What will I do?!?!

But the mail delivery systems is how you go about doing quests and you find out a lot about the characters when you read the letters. Also when you follow Annette around, despite the creepiness of it, you can find out about the characters as well through what Annette shouts when she delivers the mail. Previous characters from the other games come into mention and you realize how closely tied this one is to the other.

In the first five days, I was also able to unlock Melody and Lara from the original Rune Factory. Melody is a witchy dressed girl that gives you a hammer and hot springs to cure your body daily for the awesome price of 10G and Lara comes with a scolding for working yourself too hard. But she's pretty and smart and nice so I'm sure Raguna didn't mind all that much! You also get to meet Rosetta pretty early on. She's a darling and she tries so hard to compete with the main girl, Mist, that she holds a special place in my heart. But make sure that you don't ship only weeds cause then her displeasure will show!

Also in this game, there is a HUGGEE lake called Lake Polis. Its so huge I didn't bother exploring it just yet. I haven't settled into my farm and no steady income is coming as of yet, so I'll hold off on that till I can have more security and some monsters working the field.

Honesty not much was accomplished in this game just yet. The feel is the same as the others and only time will tell. The story goes that there is  giant whale who doesn't have much time yet before he can't float anymore and fall upon the little town below. Raguna is trying to help of course through the assitance of Mist but Izzy already went into that. There is something about the 12 Maidens as well, but I'm not too sure what its significance is just yet. I'm excited for this game and the wonderful things are to come with it. :D

Rune Factory Frontier - The First 10 Days

Konbanwa! Good evening viewers! We'll be starting this charming farming adventure tonight, having had the pleasure to go through a couple of in-game days. Anyways our tale begins late at night with the main character wandering about, eventually coming across a small town, which we come to know as Trampoli, he's on a quest, looking for some girl that mysteriously left his village one day. We get to chat with an elderly lady named Stella, who's the head religious Sister of the town. We then get the chance to name our hero, I went with Meepo, although the default name was Raguna, it's always fun to rename the characters to something cute, yet really weird... Surprise surprise, after staying the night at a local Church, we find Mist, the girl Meepo was looking for all along, GASP! Who also happens to enter into the Church... for whatever reason.

Upon starting day two, a lot of exciting developments occur. We get a free farm, which is littered with debris, which we get the pleasure of cleaning up, I decided to name the homestead, Oshawott farm. Of course Mist loves the name, it's in her scripted dialogue for her to say she loves the name you've given the farm, hence why I found Meepo's dialogue, "I hope you weren't planning on saying that no matter what I named it" rather amusing. Beyond that Mist also hands us a radish seed, a watering can, and a cheap hoe, and being the moron I am, I couldn't help but giggle a little at that.

We learn about the floating whale-shaped island right above our heads, and upon climbing up a magical beanstalk to reach it we discover it's not just a flying whale, but that it's ALIVE! Or well kind of... unfortunately this poor whale is dying... NOOOOOOO! So of course our hero pledges to "Save the Whale" I end up entering a nearby cave on the whale and try to fight monsters with the cheap hoe, I almost die, so I head back home and sleep off the deep blade wounds some goblins made in my thigh.

The next morning... SHEEP, oh I mean... Hi~! Anette mail girl person! Yay she gave me a sweet letter, that welcomed me to town, even though she could've saved a tree by welcoming me in person, oh well, whatever. The letter was sweet and Anette was amusing, plus she had a flock of sheep things with her that made me squeak with glee. After the joy of getting mail for the first time I went to Stella who sent me on a quest to meet with Turner & Eunice, who in turn led me to meet Ganesha, who sent me to meet Danny, who finally tossed me out to meet Erik... Errands errands errands. Overall I really like the characters so far, they each have distinct personalities, Erik's tale of monster turnips destroying my crops if they went out of season was simply delightful.

After talking with everyone and buying some seeds I went back to working on the farm. I ended up working myself too hard, so I resorted to eating weeds to prevent myself from dying. Meepo makes a really weird noise when he eats, which gets kind of irritating in rapid succession as I eat a stack of 40+ weeds. Mist happened to arrive at the farm after I was done gulping down piles of raw vegetation so I had a little talk with her, in which she proceeded to talk about her dreams and how she'd tell the voice in her dreams to talk to me. I don't want a voice to bother me in my dreams though... Eitherway I dismissed the topic and continued working, I soon met Rosetta a character from the previous game who's going about doing crop shipments and stuff, she wants to start up a new General store here, le gasp! Danny has some competition! Or better yet he's going to be destroyed by her!

Afterwards I wandered around aimlessly about town, and to my surprise I found a singing rock, I had no idea what it is, and I can't seem to interact with it, sooooo... I went to the bar to drown out the haunting memories of the chanting stone. Unfortunately I couldn't drink, Turner however is an alcoholic, bad inn keeper/father/husband, bad! So without much else to do for the remainder of the night, I went to bed.

A voice interrupted my sound sleep during the middle of the night in a dream, curse you Mist. So I awoke went out, did some farm work just to see Anette zoom across the road like a car, sound effects and all! I checked my mail and tried to follow her, but I lost her trail to who the hell knows where, probably around town. I decided to go on an adventure through the whale's cave and in the process found Melody a cute witchy looking individual. I got a free hammer, broke open a giant rock, and opened up a spring, hooray!

I happened to come across Kross, he's really funny, but kind of weird. He told me a lot of... interesting things. Things like, rubbing monsters with gloves and that they'll become friends with me in the process. Also he talks to vegetables. After having an exciting conversation with the village weirdo I headed over to Stella to find out that Mist is sick! That's what you get for sending a mystical voice to harass me in my sleep! She then threatens to make me sick as I come to visit her. What an evil woman! After the pleasant visit with the sick Mist, I come across a small boy near the pond. The first thing that comes to mind is to push him into the pond. Unfortunately that's not an option, but the option to kidnap him comes up! Or not... Still it makes for an amusing conversation starter! He turns out to be Ganesha's son Marco, and in the future he'll end up saving us all from some unspeakable evil!

On day five I ended up falling unconscious and met Lara the nurse, soon afterwards I ran back to my home to catch Anette in the act of delivering mail. I then proceeded to stalk her throughout town as she delivered it to everyone's homes. I ended up getting an axe, a sickle and several books from various members of the town today, and Melody opened up her bathouse yay! Melody REALLY loves bathing, as the topic comes up in just about every sentence she speaks. I also met an old guy named Nolan who just stands outside the male baths all the time... It was Melody who explained to me that the Whale (Whom I've done nothing to help save yet) has a name, his name is Laga, that'll be good to know!

It's now day six of my adventure and I find a dead person in front of my home, only she's not dead. So I then proceed to try and drown her with my watering can. It doesn't work so I go ask Lara the nurse to heal her up, to get her off my lawn. The woman who was dying on my front porch is named Selphy, she forgets to eat, and apparently not eating for a week got her in this mess! Lara then proceeds to verbally abuse her and forces her to stay in town. I learned today that shipping out weeds makes Rosetta sad, hooray! Once again Mist proves how she's the mistress of evil by forcing me to cut her super tall weeds. In the process I discover a underground ruin... dun dun dun... is this where Mist keeps the dead bodies? I proceed to head to the bath house after Mist almost works me to death, then sleep after taking a relaxing bath... despite Nolan still standing there.

It's the start of a new day, oddly enough there's no Anette, maybe because it's the holidays... all the stores are closed so I decide to head over to the library, upon entering... WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO THE LIBRARY SELPHY! Apparently she's been placed in the library to live there, and she's "reorganizing" everything...

After seeing the new state of the Rune Archives I went over to Lute, who only appears on holidays and sells special things, such as furniture, so I purchase a kitchen and frying pan from him, so now I can cook, good I was getting sick of eating raw weeds all the time. I head over to the baths after some farming, and just my luck a new old guy standing outside the male baths, this guys name is Kanno, he's a researcher or something of old magic, MAGIC, did you say MAGIC?! Unfortunately he's chronically ill and doesn't teach me any magic, boo.

So the next couple of days I wasn't sure what to do, I mainly did a lot of farming, occasionally chatting with the locals, I spoke with Mist one day to find out she REALLY REALLY loves Turnips, in turn I decided to explore the dungeon in Mist's front yard, lots of exciting dungeon crawling, I even got Kross the village weirdo to build me a barn to keep the animals I "became friends with" in, I found a weird squirrel thing and a plant monster, which I respectively named Monty and Aria. Unfortunately I got a little carried away on day nine and ended up falling unconscious in the dungeon at 4:59 in the morning. Someone must've dragged my body back to my bed because I woke up with a cold after a couple hours... Hmm I wonder who could've done that...
